Senior Year
2021-2022
This past summer, I spent hundreds of hours studying for my Dental Admissions Test and completing my application for dental school. All of the hard work I have been putting into my classes and extracurricular activties is now coming in a full circle!

My goals for this year is to
1. Get accepted into dental school!
2. Make a legacy as the Student Body President.
3. Finish off the year with a 4.0 GPA!
01
Freshman Convocation
Today at Freshman Convocation, I had the honor of speaking to the Freshman class as their Student Body President.

Some of the main items I focused on in my speech is to get involved in student organizations on campus, and don't be afraid to ask for help!
02
SGA Leadership Training Retreat
For the past month, I have been working with my executive cabinet to host our annual SGA Leadership Retreat! The purpose of this retreat is to teach the basics of SGA to our senators and our supreme court.

I am incredibly excited to be working with such a great group of individuals, and I can't wait for all of the changes they will make in the coming year.
03
Student Organization Fair
T0day I worked with fellow senators Tarshaye Flakes, Stephanie Barron, and Caleb Parker to promote SGA to incoming/or current students! At our table, we had free items that students could take on the go.

I can't wait to see new faces within SGA!
04
Cardinal Kickoff
To commemorate our first home game for football season, we had Cardinal KickOff today on campus! This was an event filled with free Lamar gear, food, and fun!
To promote this event, I had a short segment with the local news channel talking about how excited I was for football season!

05
Hurricane Ida SGA/Athletics Fundraiser
Today at the first football game of the season, SGA partnered with athletics to raise money for Hurricane Ida Victims in Louisiana. I loved being able to meet many of the athletic students that compose our university and learn more about what drew them to their specific sport!
06
Lamar University Receives a Multi-Million Dollar Grant
Today I had the honor of speaking alongside President Taylor and Chancellor McCall to discuss the new multi-million dollar grant Lamar University has received from the state of Texas.

I know that this money will allow our university to continue to grow and make improvements related to infrastructure and student satisfaction!
07
A Visit From Dr. Leifeste DDS
Today we had a special guest named Dr. Leifeste come join us today for our Pre-Dental Society meeting!

She is truly an inspiration to me, and I can't wait to learn more from her in the future!
08
Coffee with Congress
Today for SGA, we held Coffee with Congress in the Setzer Student Center Atrium. Coffee with Congress is an event that we have designed that allows us to learn more about the student body, and communicate to them projects that SGA is currently working on!

We had a great turnout for this event, and I can't wait to host this event again in the coming future!
09
Self- Defense Training
In an effort to increase student safety on campus, I worked with Tiger-Rock Martial Arts Studio in Beaumont to host a free self-defense training for all students. This event was held in two sessions...
1. Women's Only Session
2. Co-Ed Session

This event was a BLAST, and I had so much fun while learning critical self-defense moves. One cool aspect of this training was that I also learned how to break a wooden board!
10
President Taylor's Investiture Ceremony
Today was President Taylor's Investiture Ceremony! An investiture ceremony is an event in which we officially inaugurate our president into office.

I had the honor to speak on behalf of the student body for this event in front of faculty, staff, community stakeholders, and the Board of Regents.

I can't wait to see what changes President Taylor will bring to Lamar!
